I have a new love and their name is Scarlet. Now, before you go thinking that I have suddenly decided to only share my love with the same sex, you must know that I am talking about the newly (as of August 1st) release from Angel Dessous. One of Nando Korobase’s newest releases entitled Scarlet is a definite must have. I mean, just look at the color range he has created for the line.

Though, what I truly adore about Nando’s designs, other than the colors available, are the endless options. When trying on Scarlet, I was able to create 5 different looks (shown below).

However, the options are endless and I am sure that there are more combinations than I found. The one thing that I am certain about is that Nando and Angel Dessous never ceases to amaze me. Just when I think that he has outdone himself he releases a new collection. So, what are you still reading for? Get your little butts down to Angel Dessous and pick up this sexy little number!

I am a Myth

The above picture is my first entry to the Myth Photo Contest that Aeris Pinazzo is holding to celebrate the birthday of her store Myth. I recommend that anyone who loves second life photography, or shopping for that matter, to enter in the contest. Pinazzo’s creations are brilliantly colored and well crafted. You can tell the pride she takes in each creation, and every time I see her post something new on her blog or Flickr I have to fight the urge to shop. Suggestions:
My advice is to put some time, thought, and effort into it. I usually lean more torwards the pictures that show the essense of my clothing style. You can get an idea of what that is by having a look around my main store. I really love colors (example: grunge – while i like grunge photography it just does not describe the feel or products of my store.)
I do not suggest having muliple avatars where one avatar is wearing clothes from somewhere else. Incase I want to use the pictures for future advertisement it just wouldn’t work.

The Night Before…

It seems like forever since I posted the blog about getting engaged. Yet, the wedding date has finally come. I consider it an accomplishment that we have stayed together so long. People in SL seem to go though partners as often as they change their dirty socks. I know, gross and probably not the best analogy, but it’s the only thing I can think of at the moment.

This morning we had a wedding rehearsal, and it was early for everyone. Though it doesn’t help that none of us slept at all. Emm was busy talking to her boyfriend (and my brother) Rex, Summer seemed to be up pretty late, and then Traaxx and I just couldn’t shut up so we were up until 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. respectively. However, I managed to make it this morning as did Emm who apparently was sleeping with her computer. Summer was right on time, but my lovely groom was a few minutes late. Thank goodness Rick (Wake) our officiate was patient! Finally, everyone was there and we went through the rundown. How scary! I thought runway work was nerve racking, but I think getting married properly in SL might be up there as well. Soon after the rehearsal everyone parted their own ways and I ended staying behind taking care of last minute details.

Unfortunately, it’s not over yet… I mean the planning not the wedding. I plan to enjoy every minute of the ceremony! But, I am thankful to finally have a break. Too bad, it is short lived as I still have to write my vows. Shhh.. don’t tell anyone I am slacking on that. However, I will chalk it up to the fact that I have a degree in English and it comes in handy from time to time. Though, I know I will be blown away by whatever Traaxx chooses to write as he does have a way with words when he tries.

So, as I try to relax on my last night as a single woman in SL I think back on the many memories I have within the metaverse. It makes me laugh that the wedding has made me so emotional and sensitive. Perhaps, the thought of spending my Second Life partnered with Traaxx makes me realize how lucky I truly am. I have a best friend who is like a sister, who coincidentally has a pain-in-my-ass for a boyfriend though I consider him my brother, a future husband who goes out of his way to make me happy, and the greatest friend, Sky, for whom this wedding would not be possible. He has been so generous by clearing off his land for us to use, and helping with this and that. For the rest of you that are not specifically named in this post you know how much you mean to me, and what I would do for you all. It’s funny the last thing I thought I would find on SL is a family and yet it found me.

Hanging out

So, in the midst of getting ready for my SL wedding (not to mention the interruption of RL) I have been slack on getting photos done for my next entry. Well. . . they are done and sitting on my laptop, but still need some editing. However, I was lucky enough to have a three day weekend last week for the holiday (4th of July for those of you non-Americans), and got to spend some time with my best friend Emmerald Clarity. Her poor boyfriend had to put up with us finishing each other’s sentences and complimenting what the other one was wearing. After a while, we were able to get my fiancee in on the conversation, but unfortunately SL wouldn’t let him rezz, and this is the product of that inability.

The outfit I am wearing is one of my new favorites. It’s casual, funky, sexy, and well me. It’s something I have been doing lately; challenging myself to create a funky new look every day. So, far I think I have lived up to the challenge. However, none of this would be possible without the creativity of Zaara kohime. Her line of clothing was the inspiration for this outfit and many more.

Skin: Belle by Belleza in tan. Let me warn you in advance that Belleza is addicting. They have quality skins at a reasonable price, and there is a make-up to go with every outfit you can dream.

Jewelry: Melange by Zaara in blue. I chose to buy the fatpack that comes with bracelets (for both right and left arms) and the earrings that match. It was a bargain and I wear them with every outfit.

Top: Xacuti by Zaara in aqua. This top is fantastic. You can take off the tank underneath and add the bottoms and it turns into a bathing suit. It’s perfect for an impromtu swim.

Jeans: Zaara Jeans – Jewelled in Indigo. The jeans come with lots of options. There is the pair of pants that you attach the bottom prims to, and those options include: straight, wide, and slouch. I tend to lean towards the slouch as it gives just the right amount of comfort while still looking stylish. The price for these are unbelievably reasonable, and I just had to have the fatpack!

Shoes: Maitreya gift pumps in Turquoise. The shoes were a gift for subscribing to the Maitreya group, and they are fantastic. In fact, the gift itself came with many different color options.

An Enchanted Evening

The picture above is one of my entries to the “An Enchanted Evening with Azul and PhotoLife”. It really turned out well, I think, which strikes me as funny because it wasn’t what I had planned. But then again, I suppose the things that you don’t plan for always turn out to be the best.

When I first heard of the contest, I was excited to say the least. After being introduced to Mami Jewell’s wonderful collection of gowns, I have had to keep myself away. She has everything from elegant ball gowns to casual dresses, and even some sexier ones to spice things up. If you need formal wear or just a fun dress to wear then definitely make Azul your first stop!

Dress: Farfalla in Onyx from Azul.

Skin: Kalista in tan from Tuli.

Hair: The hair is by W&Y.

Jewelry: The necklace and bracelet were created by the wonderful people at Armidi. The The ring is the only exception and was created by none other than J.D. Hansen of JCNY.

Shoes:Two words: Stiletto Moody.

I was able to do two more photos for the contest as shown on the left and below. This dress has to be my absolute favorite (with Farfalla in close second). The first time I saw it was at the EFA graduation when Jennaa Loire, who is an amazing model and extremely kind, wore it as she had just finished at a photo shoot. It was so brilliant that I couldn’t say no and right after the graduation I TP’d to Azul and bought in red.

Skin: Afrodite A1 by Soul Skin.

Hair: The hair is by ETD.

Jewelry: The necklace and earrings were created by the fantastically talented Alienbear Gupte. The ring is of course JCNY.

In My Own Skin

Since I first rezzed, I have always been somewhat conservative in what I wear. It is kind of ironic when you think of the pretenses as to why people begin their stints on Second Life. However, much like my RL persona, I don’t like to show too much. A hint of stomach here, a little cleavage there, and a whole lot of leg everywhere. However, when I found out that Aimesi offered skins as well, I figured why not shed my clothes and give everyone a closer look.

Some of you may recognize Mea Carnell for her amazing building talent. However, she has also begun to incorporate skins into her designing reportoire. Let me just say, “THANK YOU, Mea!!” Her creativity and expertise in design has transferred seamlessly to the world of skins. The skins, offered in many tones and make-ups, are sure to have something to please everyone.

As pictured above, I am modeling “Aimesi Skins Pale 8″. This skin features a heavy eye make-up, and a more natural pink lip. It is perfect for those times when you need that dramatic flair. When paired with a pair of Aimesi prim eyelashes, it creates the perfect balance of femininity and strength.

Not only is the make-up to die for, but Carnell has also taken the time to gorgeously sculpt the rest of the body through shading. Often times, many skin makers focus their attention solely on the face, and the end product is a less than desireable body. However, Carnell has definitely out done herself by perfectly shading a sculpted stomach, and highlighting the arms and legs realistically.

There is only one way to describe Carnell’s skins and that is a staple in anyone’s inventory. If you don’t already have one of her skins then TP to her store and pick up a few (or a pack). I promise it’s worth every penny. So, whether you’re in the market for a new bedroom set or some really great make-up, Aimesi should be the number one stop on your list; I know it is on mine.

For those of you who know me or for those of you that actually back tracked through this blog, know that I will soon be married to my fianceé. And what better way to celebrate my new SL with the hubby than some sexy lingerie? Luckily for me, Angel Dessous has plenty to offer! Angel Dessous, owned and designed by Nando Korobase, is a one stop shop offering clothes, lingerie, swimwear and much much more.

In fact, if I had to choose my favorite piece of lingerie at the moment I would have to say it is the Sydney. Shown on the left in white, the Sydney comes with undershirt, shirt, 2 pant, underpant, and sock layers. When combining the shirt and undershirt layer the bra becomes opaque while giving a more sensual, lacey apparence when the shirt layer is left off. The same effect happens if you wear the normal pants version with the underpant layer. Fortunate for us, Nando knows that no lingerie set is complete without garters hence the 2 pant versions (one with garters, one without).

If you’re tired of the same old black and white lingiere (that is so passé), Angel Dessous also offers the Sydney in different colors (shown in Jewel on the right). What better way to feel good about yourself than to slip into some stunning lingerie.

I know many of you are wondering, “why should I wear underwear or lingerie in Second Life? Hello, it’s not like I need it”. Well, no you don’t need lingerie per say, and heck I am sure your partner may be fine without it. But what I know from slipping into this fabulous clothing is that it makes me feel good. The sensuality oozes out of myself when I wear it, and it gives my honey a visual while still keeping some to the imagination.

So whether you have a special someone in your SL or not, stop by Angel Dessous and make yourself feel sexy. Whether it’s a casual outfit for outings with friends to swimsuits and lingerie, Nando has created something for everyone. Now go on, TP to the store and tell him Mandy sent you

I know, I have been such a slack blogger lately. It’s been like two weeks since I’ve been able to post and I have left you all out in the cold. But, alas do not fret as I am here to change all of that. Not to mention, I come bearing a brand new designer. . . *insert oh’s and ah’s here*

Her name is Kendall Larnia, and many of you may either already know her or have heard of her. She is a wonderfully talented model in SL and has recently ventured into designing clothes. Let me say that I am thankful she has decided to take the leap and expand her talents because her clothes are amazing. I have been lucky enough to try out many of her designs and each time I do they just get better and better. Another thing I love about Kendall is she is so down to earth, friendly, and encouraging. I have known her for a while after a chance meeting when I first started SL, and her evolvement has been inspiring. So, without further hesitation let me show you one of my favorite designs of hers entitled “Tara”.

Tara (shown in blue) is a stylish casual dress that can also be worn to semi formal events. You can see from the back that Kendall has put many details into the dress, such as the twisted shoulder straps and detailing along the empire waist. The color is beautiful, and even more so in person. However, my favorite part of the dress is the cut. Fitting on the top and moving into a flowy bottom that screams femininity, but also has a certain sensuality about it.

Whether you dress it up with a great pair of shoes from Stiletto Moody or simply with some great flats, Kendall has created a dress that is versatile. Though, you’ll be happy to hear that this is not the only dress that she sells in her shop. One of her newest creations is named “Tempest” and is a beautiful, yet funky, formal dress. The dress includes a prim skirt fit for the ball, and also a more sleek skirt for a modern feel. I will get some pictures of “Tempest” soon along with better ones of “Tara”. Put a Little Color in Your (Second) Life

One of the things that I love about Japan is their sense of style. I always find it unfortunate when I meet Americans who don’t understand what it is all about. The Japanese have this way of putting random articles of clothing together and making it work. Perhaps, this is what I admire about them so much. Everything in their outfit will match, and then suddenly you get to the shoes and they are bright green when they are wearing all black. It’s this type of attitude, and creativity that draws me to them.

For any of you who also enjoy the Japanese way then I must recommend checking out Aoharu. However, I know most of you aren’t living under rocks and have at least visited the store once. Though, if you really haven’t been there yet you must go as they not only do they offer great clothing at a reasonable price, but many of the pieces are in fact inspired by Japanese fashion.

Another reason why I can’t get enough of Aoharu is that they offer a lot of opportunites to mix and match with their clothing. They provide residents with bright, funky, and original pieces that can add so much to one’s inventory. Take this outfit, for example. Without the yellow trench coat, it is simply a pair of jeans with a tank top. However, by adding the colorful outter wear to the mix it stands out, and provides personality where it lacked before.

So, if you find your world seems a little black and white then I suggest popping on over to Aoharu and following the Nihon-jins by adding a little color to your life.
